Survey on Urban Design Guidelines for Mid-Rise Buildings
We are looking for your input on Ottawa’s new Mid-Rise Design Guidelines. Mid-rise buildings are five to nine storeys in height. A mid-rise building can have different uses and functions. For example, it may be a residential apartment, a building with commercial uses at ground level and residential above, a hotel or an office building.
The Official Plan permits mid-rise buildings along commercial streets (Mainstreet Corridor Designation), major roads (Minor Corridor Designation) and around transit stations. Mid-rise buildings are not permitted along local streets in your neighbourhood (Neighbourhood Designation). The Mid-Rise Design Guidelines will provide direction on the design of buildings, driveways, parking and landscaping, including the adjacent streets.
