We’re conducting service reviews and we want to harness the incredible wisdom of people like you, who live in Ottawa and who contribute to our beautiful city every day. Our goal is to put any savings that are found from the service reviews towards the Term of Council priorities. These priorities are focused on making our beautiful city an even better place to live, learn, work and play.

We welcome any new and innovative ideas on how we can offer services in a different way, or how we can be more cost-effective.

What is a service review?

A service review is an evaluation of an organization’s services to look for improvements to service delivery, efficiency and effectiveness. Ottawa City Council and City staff are also sharing their ideas in these services reviews.

We are committed to reporting back to you with our successes, but please note that, while all ideas will be shared with the relevant City departments, only those ideas that are deemed feasible will be considered.

What type of ideas are we looking for?

We are starting by focusing the service reviews on the four themes of the 2023-2026 Term of Council Priorities. Each theme will last up to three months, during which time you will be able offer ideas and suggestions on that topic.

The priorities are focused on creating an Ottawa that:

Has affordable housing and is more liveable for all (fall 2023) Open for feedback
Is more connected with reliable, safe and accessible mobility options (winter 2024)
Is green and resilient (spring 2024)
Has a diversified and prosperous economy (summer 2024)
