Cost-Based Funding Learning Series

We are gathering feedback from the child care sector to better understand what information and support would be most helpful as Cost-Based Funding is implemented. This short 15-minute survey is an opportunity to share your questions and areas where additional information or support would be helpful. Your feedback will help us identify common themes across the sector and inform the content of an upcoming Cost-Based Funding information session planned for the end of September, ensuring it addresses the topics most relevant to child care service providers. Thank you for taking the time to share your insights.

Program Cost Allocation: The amount of funding allocated to cover eligible child care operating costs. It equals the Benchmark Allocation + any applicable Top-Up Funding. Benchmark: A ministry-established standardized cost measure representing the typical cost of delivering quality child care in Ontario. Top-Up Funding: Extra funding above the benchmark for providers with higher eligible costs or those adding new spaces/home child care capacity.
