Defund the Police!!
Defund the OPS. Their budget is entirely way too much and could be cut to provide money for other sections of Ottawa.
Services to help BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disabled people are more in need that the police.
We need to make a change, politicians needs to enact laws and defund flawed organizations and sections of Ottawa, like the OPS.

Ottawa needs to prioritize funding emergency mental health professionals who can safely respond to a mental health crisis. Calling a wellness check is a very dark last resort basically just to make sure someone hasn’t hurt themselves. There needs to be more resources for before things get to that point. Mental health care should be a priority, not just when it becomes a crisis.
