Defund the Police

I believe that the police force does not adequately provide protection and security for us as opposed to what we have always been told to believe. There have been far too many cases of police brutality and abuse of power, resulting in the deaths of innocent people, specifically Black people and minorities. A person calling for a mental health crisis should be cared for by a trained specialist, not harmed by an armed officer. People should not be living in fear of those who are meant to bring justice. With so much money going towards a system that in turn uses its power to oppress others, changes need to be made.
