Avid VOTER who is paying attention

I was born and stayed here, I own a home in this city, I pay taxes in this city, I vote in every single election, I sign petitions, I was educated here, and I am paying attention.

'The City' claims to be seeking "strategies and actions to improve safety and well-being for everyone in Ottawa" and the answer is simple, DEFUND THE POLICE and REFUND safety and well-being programs for everyone.

I hope you understand what I mean by DEFUND, but you have not proven to me that the government understands much of anything so here is a simple explanation: you take money away from the police department who are unable or unwilling to do the tasks woefully assigned to them by YOU the City, and give that money (money that comes from Citizens) to social programs for healthcare, homelessness, hunger, public transit, etc. things that Citizens actually need to LIVE.

The concept of DEFUNDING the police to REFUND needed social programs is so simple that children understand it.

If you are still looking for "strategies and actions to improve safety and well-being for everyone in Ottawa" and not considering DEFUNDING the police, then you can expect to see me and hundreds of like-minded Citizens loudly attending all your future meetings at 110 Laurier Ave. making your lives as difficult as you make ours.
