1010 Somerset Park Amenities and Facility Concept Design Survey
Thank you for taking the time to share your insights with us. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and will be open until October 2, 2026. Additionally, you can email your feedback to 1010somerset@ottawa.ca.
The survey is divided into two sections:
Plouffe Park and the new adjacent park
The City of Ottawa is redeveloping the park lands at 1010 Somerset and needs your help! The answers you provide in this survey will help define the vision for the park lands and will be incorporated into a concept plan which will be presented later this year. The First Phase of the redevelopment will include Plouffe Park and the park land link, and the Second Phase will include the new one-hectare park lands.

The Recreation and Cultural Facility
This section seeks feedback on the proposed concept designs for the new recreation and cultural facility. Two facility design concept plans have been developed based on feedback received through previous public engagement activities. The feedback gathered to date has informed the proposed spaces, amenities and overall design of the new recreation and cultural facility. Both concept options include the same core recreation, cultural and shared amenities. However, the options differ in their building configuration, layout, size of individual spaces, site design, connections to Plant Recreation Centre and the new elementary school, and access to outdoor public space.
The design concept plans presented through this round of engagement represent the potential future facility and will continue to evolve as the project progresses. The final concept plan for the facility will be informed by additional engagement feedback and other opportunities the City is exploring as the project moves forward.
Although both concepts provide the same core amenities, the size and layout of individual program spaces vary between the two options. These differences affect how recreation, cultural and shared spaces are organized within the building and how the facility relates to the surrounding site. The facility may also include underground parking, with the final parking configuration and capacity to be determined as the facility and park designs are further developed.
Before completing the survey, please review both concept plan options and consider the overall building configuration, layout and size of spaces, site organization, connections to Plant Recreation Centre and the new elementary school, and access to public space provided in each option. The following questions will gather your feedback on the two concept options and help inform the continued development of the facility design.
