A place for every emotions you feel!
by Zoe Beaudoin, about 2 years agoThe library is just such an awesome place. I go there so often. They have books on everything and of every subject and the staff is so nice. Whenever i feel sad or mad or depressed i go pick up a book that i got from the library. I learned so many things just from a library. The North Gloucester branch have been so kind to me with my books who were overdue (cause i get too many LOL) or when i need help to find a book. The library is my go to place. Thank you so much!!

Great help
by Abdelhaq , about 2 years agoThe first time I came to Canada, I didn’t have a personal computer. Ottawa library was the first place to think about, I could use all the facilities to prepare my C.V, apply for jobs, submit applications, print and fill forms. Also, it was there where I heard about the free tax clinics which can help you filing taxes.
As a newcomer, Ottawa library was a great help.

A family's haven
by D.B, about 2 years agoAs a young family, the Ottawa Public Library – Elmvale Acres branch – has been a cornerstone of our neighborhood life : from participating to baby and me / toddler time, borrowing books (as well as buying the library’s used books at a very low cost) and hanging out in the kids’ section (playing with the activity walls, building blocks and coloring sheets).
We love spending time there, always with a warm welcome from a very knowledgeable, helpful and patient staff. As a bilingual family, we also love that we can find bilingual resources for both us and our twins.

We can’t wait to take advantage of all the other amazing resources available at OPL such as museum passes and other cultural perks. Thank you OPL for making our community warmer, more vibrant and democratizing access to culture for citizens from all walks of life.

A place for everyone
by Selma, about 2 years agoAs a newcomer to Canada and a resident of Centertown Ottawa, The public library (Main) on Metcalfe, has been a vital space for our little family. We have used the printing for important documents, we got play time and a social time for our little ones in the Kids section when it was raining or cold outside, we got books for all on us, specially early reader books now for our little one, helping with reading new books all the time.

The friendly faces at the kids section and the public printing are going to be missed when Main is going to move out of Metcalfe Street. To be walking distance from a public library is a big lovely advantage we really enjoyed as a young family. -

by Neal, about 2 years agoCreative mind growth is the term that comes to mind with your library!
Your library, for someone coming here from smaller towns in Quebec is a treasure trove! Your friendly staff & range of french /english books delight my grandkids.
There is never enough time to explore all that is out there which is available in your space. You rock this town for thirsty knowledge seekers like me!!!
