Riverside South Park 11 is a proposed 2.36-hectare neighbourhood park located at the southeast quadrant of Borbridge Avenue and Ralph Hennessy Avenue in Riverside South. The park address is 1025 Borbridge Avenue.The park is bounded by Borbridge Avenue to the north, future low density residential development to the east, a proposed Ottawa-Carleton District School Board elementary school site to the south, and Ralph Hennessy Avenue to the west. Low-density and medium-density residential uses are planned on the west side of Ralph Hennessy Avenue opposite the park. A commercial block and residential uses are proposed on the north side of Borbridge Avenue across from the park block.Proposed amenities for Riverside South Park 11 include:<ul><li>Full-size soccer field</li><li>Splash pad</li><li>Playground areas</li><li>Shade structure</li><li>Single puddle rink with one light and a rink bunker</li><li>Potentially one or two pickleball courts</li><li>Park benches and picnic tables</li><li>Pathways</li><li>Parking lot</li><li>Landscape planting</li></ul>The ability to include one or two pickleball courts as part of the park development project will depend on the pricing received when the project is tendered.The Document Library on this page includes a PDF file with the Concept Plan for the park and images of three splash pad options and two playground equipment options.The park will be developed in accordance with the City&rsquo;s Accessibility Design Standards.The park naming will be undertaken separately in consultation with the Ward Councillor.Please complete the survey questionnaire below on the splash pad and playground equipment options and the Concept Plan by November 14, 2024. Riverside South Park 11

Each winter, City of Ottawa snowplows and their operators clear and treat over 13,000 lane kilometres of roadway, which includes Highway 174 and the Transitway, to help keep Ottawa moving during the winter season. Clearing that distance of snow is equivalent to driving from Halifax to Vancouver (and back) in a snowstorm! We believe our hardworking snowplows deserve names, so we are asking children and teens 16 and under in Ottawa to help name them. <div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW180754419 BCX8">Join us in celebrating our snowplows and their operators and their vital role in keeping our city moving by naming our plows! </div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW180754419 BCX8">Through Ottawa&rsquo;s Name the Plow campaign, 24 City of Ottawa snowplows will be named by you. </div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW180754419 BCX8">Submit your name ideas between September 9 and September 30. It&rsquo;s your city, your budget, and we want to hear from you! The City of Ottawa engages with residents each year to gather ideas and feedback as it drafts the budget for City Council&rsquo;s consideration. City Budget 2025

The City of Ottawa is developing a new comprehensive Zoning By-law for approval by Council in 2025. The by-law will implement the policies and directions in the <a href="https://engage.ottawa.ca/the-new-official-plan/news_feed/official-plan-tracked">new Official Plan</a> approved by the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing on November 04, 2022. Once approved, the new Zoning By-law will replace the current Zoning By-law (By-law 2008-250).Starting in 2023, the City will be consulting with communities, the development industry, grass-roots organizations, non-profits and other stakeholders to ensure that everyone gets a chance to have their say in the new Zoning By-law.This Engage Ottawa page will be your one-stop shop for project updates and information on future public engagement opportunities. New Zoning By-law

The City is developing a Climate Resiliency Strategy to assess how Ottawa is vulnerable to climate change and identify strategies to mitigate the greatest climate risks.Climate change will impact us all in our daily lives. Heatwaves will increase heat related illnesses, shifting freeze-thaw cycles will cause more damage to roads and more intense rainfall will increase the risk of flooding.To develop a strategy that meets the needs of everyone in Ottawa we need your input.
