Invest in social services, not the police

Calling the police should not be people's first and/or only option when they need assistance.

The police are not helping people of colour, the police are not helping the LGBTQ+ community, the police are not helping people who struggle with mental or physical health, the police are not helping people who are homeless, addicted or abused. So why are we spending so much on the OPS?

The city of Ottawa needs to defund its police force and invest in solutions that keep our communities safe. Social services, healthcare and housing should be prioritized.
