Abolish OPS

The obscene amount of funding given to OPS would be better used toward the root causes of "crime" such as poverty and mental illness. If these problems were addressed from the start, the police would not be needed to keep us "safe". Furthermore, many situations the police currently respond to would be better dealt with by other professionals with specialized training (e.g. mental health checks). Currently the police serve to further oppress marginalized communities without actually making them safer.
