A new community space is coming to southeast Ottawa!

The City of Ottawa is planning a brand-new recreation complex and district park in Ward 22 Riverside South – Findlay Creek, serving the southeast area of Ottawa. This exciting project will bring a wide range of indoor and outdoor amenities designed to support healthy, active living for residents of all ages. The new complex and park will serve as a vibrant hub for recreation, fitness and community connection.

The complex will be located at 1863 Earl Armstrong Road.


What’s Coming

The proposed facility will be over 15,219m2. The district park is planned to be developed in phases. The preliminary program for the Phase 1 development includes the following amenities:

Indoor Amenities

  • A 6-lane, 25m lap pool and a therapeutic/leisure pool
  • Two NHL-size ice rinks
  • Gymnasium
  • Fitness studio and cardio/weights area
  • Multi-purpose and meeting rooms
  • Indoor walking track
  • Change rooms and public washrooms
  • Customer service desk and lobby
  • Concession area

Outdoor Features

  • Playground with play structures
  • Splash pad
  • Outdoor fitness equipment
  • Shade shelter and seating areas
  • Combination football / soccer field
  • Pickleball courts
  • Tennis courts
  • Beach volleyball courts
  • Basketball court
  • Approximately 500 parking spaces, including electric vehicle charging stations
  • Bicycle parking (including covered bike racks)
  • Walkways, landscaping, and tree planting

The preliminary program for the future development of the remainder of the district park includes the following amenities:

  • Combination cricket pitch / Ultimate fields
  • Softball diamonds
  • Soccer fields

This facility will be a major hub for recreation and fitness in southeast Ottawa.
