Consultation Has Concluded
Thank you to everyone who provided their input on the playground options for the new community park in Richmond. We heard from 41 residents with an almost even split between the two options: 51 percent of residents preferring Option 1 and 49 percent preferring Option 2.
In moving forward with the detailed design, the design team will consider the preferred option while also providing variety from the playground elements found in nearby Meynell Park.
Amenities that residents requested, but that are not included within the project budget, included lawn bowling, tennis courts, a running track and adult exercise equipment.
The construction of the new park is anticipated to start in 2022. Councillor Moffatt and the community will continue to receive updates on this project.
Thank you for participating in the survey!
The City is looking for your feedback on a new community park in Richmond (Ward 21 - Rideau-Goulbourn) to be constructed as part of Mattamy's Richmond Meadows subdivision. The new community park is 3.36 hectares in size and will be located on the west side of Meynell Road. It will include the following amenities:
Full-size soccer field
Playground with play structure and swings
Sand play area
Shade structure with picnic table
Seating options and game tables
Multi-purpose court (skating rink and basketball courts)
Puddle rink
Benchfit circuit
Skate spot
A splash pad may be included within the park, pending further review of engineering requirements.
Take the survey below to tell us your preference for the playground equipment style options.
