The Survey has concluded. In summary, a preference was expressed for the play structure depicted in option B. The concept will now be developed into a detailed design. Details of the construction schedule will be posted once available.

Comment summary:

• One comment was made in opposition to this design, noting that the bug structure was too scary. Another commenter noted that they liked the bold colours of this design.

• One comment asked for fencing of the play area and another for tennis court. These items are not within scope or budget for the project.

• One comment asked about accessibility: In response it should be noted that all new or redeveloped play outdoor play spaces in City of Ottawa parks are designed to be compliant with the AODA Design for Public Spaces Standard, and with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z614-14 Annex H: Children’s Playspaces and Equipment that are Accessible to Persons with Disabilities. This document provides detailed specifications for playspace elements (i.e. play components, accessible routes, transfer systems, and ground surfaces) as well as specifications for the different developmental stages of children with disabilities.

The City is looking for your feedback on the design of a new Park located in Ward 22. The New Park will be located at 820 Chorus Drive, in Riverside South. The Park will have frontage on three streets: Chorus Drive, Kenny Gordon Ave and Rhythm Way.

You can download and review the two Park Design Options in the ‘Document Library’ (located to the right). The concepts show the proposed designs and more information on the proposed park amenities. Please be aware that the final park plan may differ from the concepts being presented as a result of the public consultation responses, technical detailing, and material supply and/ or financial constraints.

Both park design options provide a 2 rectangular sports fields, a multi-use court, a splash pad, junior and senior play structures, sand play, and swings including an accessible harness swing.
