The City of Ottawa is seeking your input regarding the design of a replacement swing set for the play area in Ralph Park in Ward 6. The swings are to be relocated from the existing sand play area in behind the play structure, to a new wood fiber play area in front of the play structure. The relocation is to ensure that the swings meet the City of Ottawa Accessibility Design Standards. A new pathway access is to be provided, as well as a new accessible park bench. Please refer to the concept plan provided to the right of the page for further details.

The swing set will include two standard belt seats and two standard infant seats, as well as one of two options for an accessible seat: a harness seat (1), or a saucer seat (2). See concept plan on the right for images of the seat options. Please provide your preference of seat type using the survey below.

Note that the existing play structure is newer and therefore not included in the scope of this project, which falls under the Lifecycle Replacement program. Council has approved the budget and the scope for this program, and therefore further upgrades beyond what is identified here are not being considered at this time.

Please be aware that the final park plan may differ from the concept being presented as a result of the public consultation responses, technical detailing, and supply and/or financial constraints. Your understanding is appreciated.

We kindly invite you to complete the survey below to share your insights and preferences. Please note that the survey can only be taken once per account. Your feedback is important in shaping the future of this park.

The survey will be open until May 31, 2025.
