Update (15 April, 2021)
Consultation has concluded
Moving Forward:
Thank you for providing feedback on the Celestial Park proposed design. Based on the results of the public consultation, and barring any financial, and/or supply constraints, the following will be implemented into the park design and construction:
Play equipment: as shown in the concept drawings
Sand play: will be moved to the east side of the ‘Gathering Space’
Umbrella tables: as shown in the concept drawings; however, a solid roof option (rather than perforated) will be explored
Court facility: ‘Option 3’ one (1) tennis/pickleball court and one (1) full-sized basketball court
Please be aware that there may further revisions to the plan, if necessary.
To be noted: There were several requests made for more robust play equipment, a splash pad and a larger shade shelter. Unfortunately, due to budget constraints, these amenities are not able to be implemented in this park. However, additional parks are being planned for this expanding community; these suggestions will be considered for these future parks.
The City is looking for your feedback on the Concept Plan for a new park development project to be called Celestial Park in Ward 3, Barrhaven. The 0.90 hectare park will be located at 140 Celestial Grove.
You can download and review the Celestial Park Concept Plan here which shows the proposed design and more information on the park amenities, including the play equipment.
Take the survey below to share your feedback and let us know your priorities. The survey will be open until Monday, 12 April. Please note that the survey can only be taken once per account.
