Mowat Farm Park, located in Ward 3 (Barrhaven West), is a valued neighbourhood park offering play structures, asphalt pathways, soccer fields, and green space. The City of Ottawa is planning to replace the aging and non-compliant wooden play structure, which is currently in poor condition and no longer safe for use.

We now have two concept plans ready for your review, and we want to hear from you!

Concept Options:

  • Farm Concept: Includes a tractor spring toy and a cow spring toy, celebrating the area’s rural history with fun, themed elements.

  • Nature Concept: Features a caterpillar spring toy and raccoon spring toy, designed to blend naturally with the park’s mature trees and landscape.

Both options will include:

  • A disc swing

  • New accessible benches

  • Modern play structures for two age groups: 18 months–5 years and 5–12 years

  • Improved surfacing and accessible pathways

You can view the two proposed concepts by downloading the design files from the Document Library on the right-hand panel.

Project Timeline:

  • Design: 2025

  • Construction: 2026

This project is being delivered through the City’s Lifecycle Replacement Program. The scope and budget have been approved and are focused solely on the play structure replacement. Upgrades to other park amenities are not included in this project.

Take the short survey below to share your preferred concept and any additional comments. The survey will remain open until August 26th.

Please note: The final design may vary slightly based on community feedback, technical requirements, and supply or budget limitations.
