The City is looking for your feedback on the proposed plan and play equipment for Monticello Park, a new park in Ward 23 (Kanata South). The new 0.5 hectare park is generally located west of Eagleson Road, north of Terry Fox Drive, and south of Fernbank Road.

When reviewing the proposed equipment for Monticello Park, it is important to be aware of the equipment that already exists in the other parks nearby. The location map (available via link on the right side of the screen) shows the Monticello Park in relation to the closest existing park, Proudmore-Romina Park which provides traditional play equipment for children ranging in age from 2 – 12 years old, a basketball court, a shade shelter, and a small sports field which also provides room for ‘free play’.

To help increase the diversity of equipment in the local parks, the play equipment being proposed for Monticello Park includes more climbing and challenge-focused play structures, several types of swings, sand play, and open ‘free play’ areas. Shade is being proposed by including both tree plantings and an umbrella table.

The park will be accessed by a neighbourhood sidewalk system and will comply with the City of Ottawa Accessibility Design Standards.

You can download and review the Monticello Park concept plan (which shows the overall proposed park design) and the proposed play equipment and park furniture in the Document Library on the right.

Take the survey below to provide your feedback. The survey will be open until Monday, August 12.
