Ledbury Park Renewal and New District Park

About the project

The City of Ottawa is planning improvements to Ledbury Park to create a more welcoming, accessible and vibrant place for the community to gather, play and stay active.

The project includes renewing the existing neighbourhood park and developing a new district park next to it, providing more opportunities for recreation, sports and outdoor activities for residents of all ages. Whether you're visiting the playground with young children, meeting friends for a game, enjoying a walk or cheering from the sidelines, the renewed park is being designed with the community in mind.

A vision for the future

We're excited to share a preliminary fit plan that explores what Ledbury Park could become as a future district park. You can review the preliminary fit plan by clicking here.

The fit plan demonstrates how a variety of recreational amenities could fit within the park and serves as a starting point for discussion. It is not a final design, and your feedback will help shape the next phase of the project.

The concept includes:

• A full-size football and soccer field
• A new baseball and softball field
• Beach volleyball courts
• A new full-size basketball court
• A multi-use outdoor rink that would function as a hockey rink in the winter and an asphalt activity surface for basketball, ball hockey and other recreational uses during the warmer months
• A small fieldhouse to support park users
• A renewed playground with accessible play features
• Walking and cycling pathways connecting amenities throughout the park
• New trees, seating areas, picnic spaces and gathering areas

The fit plan also identifies space for amenities that could be considered as the project evolves, including:

• A splash pad
• Tennis/pickleball courts
• Flexible open green space for informal recreation, community events and unstructured play

This fit plan represents one possible vision for the future of Ledbury Park. Some amenities may change, be relocated or not be included in the final design as the project progresses through technical studies, budget review and public consultation. Your feedback will help us understand which features are most important to the community.
