Construction begins October 2026

With the completion of the Metcalfe Fair, construction for the Larry Robinson Arena renovation and expansion project will now get underway. During construction, the arena and community hall will be closed to the public. The project is expected to be completed in fall 2027.

Work will take place within the arena building, the area of the new addition and portions of the surrounding site and parking lot. The City of Ottawa has retained N45 Architecture Inc. and Gallivan Group of Companies to complete the work.

During construction, vehicles and equipment will access the site from 8th Line Road. Hydro One will also replace poles and overhead wires along 8th Line Road near the arena this fall, which may require tree trimming and short-term lane restrictions. Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions and maintain safe access to surrounding properties.
