The city is looking for your feedback on the Plan for the recreational pathway within the Idylea Linear Park located along the western edge of the Idylea Community in Fernbank Ward 6. The Linear Park will provide a buffer between the existing community and the new Idylea Community.

The Linear Park was recently increased in width from 6 to 12 meters to allow for retention of more trees. The Pathway will be 2.0 meters wide and made of stone dust material. Please be aware that the location of the pathway has been determined by both grade changes and tree locations.

The linear park will comply with the City of Ottawa Accessibility Design Standards and has been designed to maximize the available budget.

The linear park is currently in the design phase, and the Parks & Facilities Planning Branch, City of Ottawa is seeking the public’s input on the proposed design.

The first phase of the pathway (south section) from Fernbank Road to Samuel Mann Avenue may be built in the fall of 2025 continuing into 2026. The second phase (north section) will be built in coming years dependent on the timing of later phases of the Idylea Community.

You can download and review the Idylea Linear Park Plan which shows the proposed location of the pathway by viewing the document tap below.

Comments can be provided to the Park Planner by completing the quick survey below before September 12th, 2025.
