The Eagleson Road and Flewellyn Road intersection is an unsignalized rural T-intersection with stop control on Flewellyn Road. Increasing traffic volumes and limited gaps on Eagleson Road are causing growing delays and safety concerns creating the need for long-term improvement. As part of this study, the City evaluated several alternatives including maintaining the existing unsignalized intersection, introducing traffic signals with or without auxiliary turn lanes, and constructing a single-lane roundabout. Although each alternative is technically feasible, the roundabout achieved the stronger overall evaluation and emerged as the technically preferred alternative.
