A total of 32 residents submitted their theme preference for the new play equipment. Of the responses received, 27 preferred the ‘nature’ theme and five preferred the ‘modern’ theme. Residents who preferred the ‘nature’ theme feel that it will blend in with the park’s landscape and the neighbourhood. For the ‘modern’ theme, residents like the bright and vibrant colours.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the poll!

In 2020, the play equipment in Chapman Mills Park (139 Windhurst Drive) will be replaced through a lifecycle renewal project. As part of this project, the existing sand in the play areas will be replaced with engineered wood fibre (EWF), which is an accessible surface, and the layout of the park has been redesigned as follows:
Splash pad relocated to the fenced area where junior play area is currently located
Current senior play area expanded to include the relocated junior play area
Swings relocated to be adjacent to the new senior and junior play area
New accessible pathway connecting the expanded play area and swings to Windhurst Drive
Sand play area relocated to the north side of the raised planter
