April 3, 2025:

Thank you to everyone who participated in the public consultation. Option II was preferred by 88% of the 90 participants who responded to the survey (79 vs. 11).

In general, submissions included the following comments:

  • Option II has a better variety of equipment for all ages
  • Option II has more swings and monkey bars
  • Option I is very similar to the playground in Josie Anselmo Memorial Park
  • Requests for additional amenities included a basketball court, tennis courts, sports field, outdoor rink, splash pad, toboggan hill, sandbox, picnic tables and a shade structure

The additional amenities that were requested are not able to be implemented in this park due to either space and/or budget constraints. However, Parks & Facilities Planning will continue to look for opportunities to include these amenities within the extended neighbourhood.

An update regarding the construction timeline will be posted to Engage Ottawa following the tendering process.
