Thank you to everyone who provided their input on the new community park in Cardinal Creek Village. With nearly 100 participates providing their feedback, the following items were selected as the preferred play equipment.
Play equipment – Option A: Sky High
Sand play – Option A2: Sand Table
Splash pad – Option 1
Fitness equipment – Option A
Preferred design of the north end of the park as informal recreation. The disc golf course will be removed from the design.
While every effort will be made to provide the above features, some revisions may be necessary during detailed design, tendering and construction. The developer will undertake the construction of the park. Next steps, the developer will be working through detail design of the park over the spring/summer and anticipates construction starting this fall. City staff will keep residents informed as this project progresses.
There were requests for a fenced-off dog park. The design team reviewed this request. The topography of the north-end of the park with the existing trees does not meet the minimal required area to accommodate a fenced-off dog enclosure. Providing a dog enclosure was reviewed elsewhere in the park. Without significantly reducing proposed amenities it was determined that a fenced-off dog enclosure was not feasible in this new park.
Staff will review with the Coucillor and community possible future site options to include a fenced-off dog enclosure in Cardinal Creek Village.
The City is looking for your feedback on a new community park, in Cardinal Creek Village, Ward 19 - Orleans. The 4-hectare community park is located at the intersection of Famille-Laporte Avenue and Cardinal Creek Drive.
The concept plan and images are in the document library to the right. The concept plan shows the proposed design and more information on the park amenities, including the play equipment.
Take the survey below to share your feedback and let us know your priorities. The survey will be open until Friday, February 19th. Please note that the survey can only be taken once per account.
