The Belltown Dome in Grandeur Park has been a cornerstone of recreation and community life in Bay Ward since 1979, welcoming generations for open skates, hockey and ringette games, floor hockey games and countless community events.

After more than four decades of service, the ice plant and the unique building structure have reached the end of its operational life and it’s time to reimagine what this park space could become. To start the conversation, six design concepts have been developed: four short-term options that focus on outdoor features and activities, and two long-term options that envision a new indoor facility for year-round recreation. The short-term options are designed with flexibility in mind, so they can evolve and be integrated into the long-term model as timelines and funding align. Now, the community has the opportunity to help shape what comes next for Grandeur Park and the Belltown Dome. What should this space include for the next generation?

We’re building a vision—and we want it to reflect your needs, your priorities and your community.
