Defund the Police

the police force is overfunded and inefficient. It has only protected white people such as myself. The black and indigenous people in my life have felt threatened by Ottawa police. This is the exact opposite of what the police force claims to be for. The OPS was created to protect white people, and to this day that’s what it does. Let’s please take that money and use it to fix the foster care system. Hire social workers and healthcare professionals to handle mental health crises. There should be far less police than there are, and the police should be helping every community equally. Thank you.
