Defund the OPS - More Focus on Community Services

Defund the OPS and invest in the community by giving more funding to public health services, social services, community-led initiatives, and many more. Time and time again, the police have done more harm than good, especially towards our marginalised communities in Ottawa. I have seen homeless people been turned away from community spaces by the police. I have seen how BIPOC individuals are often singled out and viewed with more unwarranted suspicion while taking the O-Train.

There are so many more incidents that occurred, and so many more left unspoken or unknown.

We need to protect our communities by investing in them, rather than investing in the police. We can create a healthier, safer Ottawa.
