Launch of Public Engagement
The City of Ottawa is launching the next phase of public engagement for the 1010 Somerset Project, which includes planning for Plouffe Park, the adjacent 1010 Somerset Street West park lands, and the new Recreation & Cultural Facility.
As part of this phase of engagement, residents are invited to learn more about the project, review the latest concepts and design directions, and provide feedback that will help shape these important community spaces.
Public Open House
Residents are invited to attend a Public Open House on September 16 to:
- share feedback on how the park is currently used by the community;
- review opportunities to enhance public spaces, programming and amenities;
- explore the vision for the new Recreation & Cultural Facility;
- meet members of the project team; and
- ask questions and share feedback on the proposed designs and future uses of the spaces.

Online Survey
For those unable to attend the open house, or who would like to provide additional feedback, an online survey will be available beginning September 16 and will remain open for two weeks.
The survey will provide an opportunity to share feedback on park features, amenities, and programming opportunities and comment on priorities for the new Recreation & Cultural Facility. Additionally, respondents will be able to help identify how these spaces can best serve current and future community needs and inform the final design and future direction of the project.
The survey will be available here on the project Engage Ottawa page. If you would like to receive project updates or be notified when the survey is launched, please sign up using the Stay Informed button.
