Elgin Street with residents and what do you dig about elgin branding.

The City of Ottawa is reconstructing Elgin Street from Gloucester to Isabella streets. This work also includes some underground work on Waverley Street from Elgin to Metcalfe streets, through Jack Purcell Park. Once construction is complete in 2020, the street will include a number of improvements including:

  • Upgraded utilities, including underground hydro
  • Wider sidewalks and shared use lanes (for cycling and vehicles)
  • New public art and streetscaping
  • Flexible space to accommodate on-street parking, patios or other seasonal uses

During the construction work, pedestrian access to businesses will remain open at all times and residents and visitors are encouraged to continue to support Elgin area businesses.
