Background and Context

The City’s Transportation Master Plan (TMP) outlines a list of active transportation projects that will be implemented to address missing links or opportunities for expansion of the network. This list of projects was developed based on public consultation, Councillor input, and a city-wide network review. One of the priority projects within the TMP includes a sidewalk on the north side of Robertson Road, addressing a missing pedestrian link within the Bells Corners community.


Project Details

What?

  • A 400-meter, 2-meter wide, sidewalk on the north side of Robertson Road behind the ditch.
  • Modifications to the drainage system, including:
    • Re-grading the ditch to improve safety.
    • Replacing/realigning the existing culverts.
    • Extending the existing storm sewer on Fitzgerald Road to improve drainage.

Where?

  • Robertson Road, from Westcliffe Road to Fitzgerald Road.

Why?

  • Improve safety and connectivity of the pedestrian network.
  • Improve access to the mid-block bus stop.
