OPL is there for my family!

Our family's time with the OPL started with Babytime at the library, which was such a lovely way of spending time with other babies and parents. We still have the first books our kids were given from the St. Laurent branch Babytime program!

Now that our kids are in school, we are at the library weekly to get a new batch of books. Whatever they are interested in, we request and pick up. We'll also browse the shelves and get whatever looks good! We go through so many books and complete series, having the library is such a blessing! Our kids will often ask to re-read their favourites. We read together every night, which is the best routine and often the highlight of my day. There is no doubt that the OPL's selection and services has helped foster a love of reading in my kids. We've also enjoyed some fun museum trips when we happen upon the Nature Card!

I have vivid memories of visiting the Main Branch of the OPL when I was a child. The high foyer ceiling, the laminated cards, the "beeps" of the librarians checking out all the books by hand, the little mini stage area in the kids section (which I believe is gone now). I am happy to be creating new memories for my kids! Even when they don't join me on library trips, the excited looks on their faces when they see the new batch of books is so heartwarming.
