Kingsmere Park Swing Replacement Project – We Want Your Feedback!

Kingsmere Park, located in Ward 7 (Bay), is a well-loved neighbourhood green space that features play structures, a wading pool, asphalt pathways, and open lawn areas. The City of Ottawa is planning to replace the aged and non-compliant swing sets in the park, and we’re looking for your input on the proposed new swing components.

The existing swings—original to the park—were not replaced during the previous play structure renewal. We are now looking to install new, accessible, and modern swing options to better serve the community.

You can view and compare the proposed swing designs by downloading the options in the Document Library (on the right-hand panel). We invite you to let us know which option you prefer and to share any additional thoughts through the short survey below.

This project has been designed in accordance with the City of Ottawa’s Accessibility Design Standards and will include new engineered wood fiber safety surfacing.

Project Timeline:

  • Design: 2025

  • Construction: 2026

Please note that this renewal is part of the City’s Lifecycle Replacement program. The budget and scope have been approved by Council and are focused solely on the swing replacement. Other existing park features will not be upgraded as part of this project. Thank you for your understanding.

Take the short survey below to share your feedback. The survey will remain open until September 26th.

Please note: The final design may differ slightly from the concepts presented, depending on feedback received, technical feasibility, and budget or supply constraints.
