Consultation has concluded
As a follow-up to the previous consultation, please see the updated concept plans for the shade shelter replacement in Iona Park.
Based on the input received during the first public consultation posted from September 20th – October 4th and feedback from a meeting with the community association, the revised concept plans have shifted the second umbrella table to avoid conflicts with the outdoor skating rink. The new plans also include the removal of the games table, two new benches, as well as new park signs: one along Iona St and the replacement of the old sign on Wesley Ave.
In conjunction with Forestry Services, the small linden tree will be removed and two new trees will be planted on the south west side of the play structure.
Following the secondary consultation period, a virtual consultation has been arranged for Dec 2 with the community association to address any remaining questions regarding the shade shelter replacement. Please contact Councillor Lieper's office for further details.
A virtual consultation was held on Dec 2, 2021 to address the community’s concerns regarding the shade shelter replacement. Ultimately, it was decided that the project shall proceed, with a new bike-rack added to the scope.
Construction schedule will be provided to Councillor Lieper’s office following the completion of the tender.
Construction has been approved to proceed. Mobilization scheduled after September 5th.
