Deferred to July 14, 2026: Consideration by the Built Heritage Committee and City Council
Update: The report recommending the designation of the Golden Triangle Heritage Conservation District (HCD) originally anticipated to be considered by the Built Heritage Committee at the hybrid meeting on June 9, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., is now expected to be deferred to July 14, 2026.
Due to the timing of a statutory holiday and a delay in the delivery of some notification letters to property owners, the City recognizes that not all property owners may have received the earlier notice with sufficient advance time. To ensure that all interested persons have an opportunity to be heard, the City is recommending the report be deferred. A new notice will be mailed to all property owners within the proposed boundaries to advise of this change.
The rescheduled July 14 meeting will serve as a statutory public meeting for the purposes of Section 41.1(6)(b) of the Ontario Heritage Act. Any person attending the statutory public meeting will be given the opportunity to make oral or written submissions regarding the proposed updated HCD Plan. People who do not raise objections at a statutory public meeting, either orally or in writing, may later be denied an opportunity to appeal the passing of the by‑law to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
If you wish to participate, you may do so either in person or via Zoom.
The report, final draft Heritage Conservation District Plan and committee agenda will be re-published online on July 3, 2026. Copies of the agenda and report may also be requested, after July 3, from Chris Zwierzchowski, committee coordinator at (613) 580-2424, ext. 21359, or by email.
Following the Built Heritage Committee meeting, the Heritage Conservation District Plan is then anticipated to be considered by City Council at the meeting on July 15, 2026. Public delegations are not heard at City Council.
