Dagenham Park Consultation Results

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Dagenham Park Concept Plan Consultation.

The consultation statistics show that 151 participants were made aware meaning they visited at least one of the project pages. 75 participants were informed meaning they downloaded a document, visited multiple project pages, and /or participated in the survey. 26 participants were engaged meaning they participated in the survey.

Of those who participated in survey:

61.5% preferred color and theme Option 1 for the play structure ( blue, orange , green with vehicle themed spring toys.)

In general, participants also provided the following requests and comments:

  • Add a Splash pad.
  • Concept looks good.
  • Complete the park as soon as possible.
  • Add more trees.

Based on these comments additional trees will be added to the Concept Plan. The schedule to build this park will be determined by Claridge Homes who are responsible to build this park. They have been made aware of the need for a park in the Westwood Community to be built as soon as possible.

A Splash Pad is beyond the budget for this park. There will be a Splash Pad at the larger community park to be built on Cope Road.

Public Consultation May 21st to June 15th 2025

The City is looking for your feedback on the Concept Plan and proposed equipment for Dagenham Park, a new park being developed in Ward 6 (Sittsville Fernbank). The 1.32 hectare park is located in the Westwood Community at the intersection of Dagenham Street and David Wiens Street. The park also has frontage on Cardamon Terrace.

The park will comply with the City of Ottawa Accessibility Design Standards and has been designed to maximize the available budget. The park has been designed to complement the other larger Community park that will be located at 785 Cope Road.

The park is currently in the design phase, and the Parks & Facilities Planning Branch, City of Ottawa is seeking the public’s input on the proposed design.

You can download and review the Dagenham Park Concept Plan (which shows the overall proposed park design, including play equipment, basketball court, picnic area, park furniture, pathways, etc) in the document Library on the right.
