The City is building a new splash pad in Blackburn Park at 190 Glen Park Drive in Blackburn Hamlet. The park is 3.3 hectares surrounded by residences, commercial plazas and the Bypass Woods.

110 residents voted on the two design options. 105 preferred Option B and five preferred Option A.
The preferred design will include:
A tall post in the shape of a tulip with two water buckets on top of it
Two arches
Two water guns
A short post spraying water in an umbrella shape
Eight inground jets spraying water up in different ways
One accessible bench
One accessible picnic table
An asphalt walkway
Ornamental plantings
Residents suggested adding more seating and trees next to the splash pad. The design team considered these comments and determined that more trees and seating could not fit into the project budget and that the soccer field runout lines limit where these items could be placed.
