Stinson Park

Lifecycle Replacement Project

In 2020, the play equipment in Stinson Park (80 Queensbury Drive) will be replaced through a lifecycle renewal project. As part of this project, the existing sand in the play areas will be replaced with engineered wood fibre (EWF), which is an accessible surface, and the layout of the park will be changed as follows:

  • Current junior play area will become the area for swings only
  • Current senior play area will have a combined junior and senior play structure
  • A new sand play area will be incorporated into the play structure area

School Consultation

In June of 2019, Councillor Harder and the Park Planner held an outdoor session with students from Monsignor Paul Baxter School. Students were eager to share the following ideas for the new play equipment:

  • Climbers
  • Teeter totter
  • Zipline
  • Swings
  • Monkey bars
  • Spinner
  • Slides
  • Tree/playhouse
  • Sand play
  • Tire swing
  • Wobbly bridge
  • Tables and benches
