Playground Replacement
This survey is now closed.
Please select your preference on the two options for the new play equipment.
Option A - Modern
- There would be an accessible HyPar Net – the first of its kind in Ottawa – in the play area for older children. It has a large net surface, transfer station, side net wall, overhead fun wheel, side cylinder climbers, two connected swinging tires, horizontal bars, an overhead ladder with end ladders, and a Stand n’ Spin.
- There would be a playhouse with slide and crawl tunnel – another first of its kind in Ottawa – for children 18 months to five years old. The playhouse has more than 20 play features and would be in a play area with a truck spring toy and twin-rider teeter.
- Based on social media demand, there would be a quiet grove where children who feel over stimulated can go with a caregiver to calm down. Located away from the play areas, the grove has several small fidget-type activities and translucent panels that maintain sight while reducing noise.
- The playground would be coated with engineered wood fibre to meet accessibility requirements.
Option B - Traditional
- The play area for older children would have traditional decking, with high spiral and double slides, challenging climbers, natural looking products, overhead ladders, deck-to-deck climbers and ground-level play with stirring wheels, play tables with seating and an abacus panel. There would also be a Stand n’ Spin.
