Background and Context
The City’s Transportation Master Plan (TMP) outlines a list of active transportation projects that will be implemented to address missing links or opportunities for expansion of the network. This list of projects was developed based on public consultation, Councillor input, and a city-wide network review. One of the priority projects within the TMP includes a sidewalk along Hobin Street, addressing a missing pedestrian link within the Stittsville community.
Project Details
What?
A 700-meter, 2-meter wide, sidewalk on the West side of Hobin Street.
Curb inlet flow through drains to carry road drainage into the existing ditch.
Improvements to the Hobin Street and Wendell Avenue intersection, including zebra-stripe crossings and concrete landing pads.
Where?
Hobin Street, from Carp Road to Crossing Bridge Park (Wendell Avenue).
Why?
Improved safety for pedestrians travelling in the area, including schoolchildren.
Improved connectivity of the pedestrian network.
