In accordance with the Fernbank Community Design Plan, the city will be proceeding with development of the Fernbank District Park.

The community and interest groups are invited to review the park concept plan, provide feedback on the overall design and provide input on specific design elements within the concept plan.

You can view, review and download the concept plan by following the link in the “Document Library’, located on the right of this page.

You are welcome to complete the survey below to share your feedback and provide comments on the Concept Plan and associated Park Amenities Panels.

The park design concept includes:

  • Combined Junior and Senior Play Areas, including sand play.
  • Splash pad
  • Football Field, with lighting
  • Cricket pitch (tapeball)
  • Tennis + Pickleball Courts, with lighting
  • Soccer field
  • Fitness Area/Zone
  • Outdoor Rink (permanent boards), with lighting and puddle (skating) area
  • Off-leash dog area
  • Parking Lot
  • Designated (future) all-wheels area
  • Designated (future) Fieldhouse
  • Shade structure(s) and gathering areas
  • Park pathway and community pedestrian connection network.

The survey will be open until Thursday September 10, 2026.

Your feedback is appreciated, however, please note that all suggestions will be considered, but not all may be able to be implemented.

Please be aware that the final park plan may differ from the concept being presented as a result of the public consultation feedback and/or site or financial constraints.

The park will be developed in accordance with all applicable city standards, including the City’s Accessibility Design Standards.

Subject to feedback received and evolution of the park development process, additional engagement opportunities may be available. Please sign up to receive updates on the park design and development progress.
